  1. My Dear Uncle Art died on Sunday morning at 8:32 am on Mothers Day. I miss him something awful. He was like a father to me, a friend, confidante and always had words of wisdom. When my Mother was on her death bed on January 12, 1976. She asked her brother, my Uncle to please look after my brother George (age 15) and I ( age 13). He did more than that. He was always kind and generous to us. He was very quick witted and never a loss for funny or sarcastic remark. Well read and a voracious reader. I found this poem on the internet and it is so fitting. “Uncle” of all the many blessings However great and small To have had you for a uncle Was the greatest one of all. The family chain is broken now And nothing seems the same But as God take us one by one The chain will link again. Love your niece Jenny

  2. Hi Jonas. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Uncle Art’s passing. I just found out and am devastated. He is the last of my mother’s family to leave us. He was a great influence on me in my life and taught me to use my brain and utilize critical thinking. After the death of your mom he suffered so much, words could never express the depth of his pathos. I am very very sorry for your loss, and your family. And am personally devastated. God bless his soul, God bless your family. Love Richard

  4. Jonas ,I am so sorry for your loss.We know your dad was somewhat a recluse, and “loner”,
but he was the last elder of mom’s family line, and I loved my uncle Art, even from afar.
We grew up as almost one big happy family at 62 nd. ave / 96 th st. ( all businesses now,)
but in those days just a big field and bushes. Grand father Archie let my dad build a
house in the bush and that’s where we lived for many years.
( We had moved back to ed. from Wabamun when the mine closed and my dad no longer
had employment). Anyway, may our Lord be with you all ! Love and hugs from Mabel & Walt

  5. Dear Jonas and children. My deepest condolences on the death of you dad, Art. He was my uncle, my mom’s brother. I live in Calgary and last saw Uncle Art at my Mom Florence’s memorial service near Wabamun, August of 2014. Respectfully, donna kutryk

  6. Dear Jonas and Family,

I am so sorry for the loss of your Father and Grand father. Art was a fountain of knowledge. I always enjoyed visiting him. He would welcome me with a cup of tea and tell me stories from his youth and days gone by. He was up on current events and had very interesting insights into world affairs. He will be missed dearly!

  7. It has been a year today, since my Uncle Art died. It hasn’t been an easy one without him. I miss him so much! I miss his guidance, his wisdom and just how he helped me with any situation. He was so rational and practical and saw a realistic side of life. Love from his niece!

    Jenny
