Cynthia De Ocampo Araneta
May 25, 1962 – April 26, 2013
Cynthia peacefully passed away on April 26, 2013, after her long, off-and-on battle against ovarian cancer. She died at the age of 50.
Her two daughters, Patricia and Pia, son, Paolo, and husband, Arnel will miss all the love and attention she unselfishly gave to her family. She will be affectionately remembered by her parents – Mel & Jean, and by her siblings Dennis, Chiqui, Bob, Pinky and the rest of the family. Relatives, friends and co-workers will always be reminded of her shy yet radiant personality.
Cynthia now rests in peace with our Creator Almighty Father. She is an angel that reminds us that we are all here on borrowed time and the life that we have is worth sharing with love and generosity.
We all love you, Cynthia, and we will miss you so much.

Pare, Cess and I were really shocked and saddened by Cynthia’s early demise which we learned from a text from Lito Virina last Sat. morning. Our heartfelt condolences. We’ll include her in our prayers and will surely pay our final respects to her next month.

Our deepest condolences! We know her battle with cancer was tough and difficult. But you were all there with her all the way. What a family! We will surely miss Cynthia. She was a true and loving friend to all of us. A beautiful person inside and out. She was simple and shy but bubbly. A loving wife and mother; a dutiful daughter who puts here concern to mom and dad on top of her list despite here sickness; a faithful sister and auntie and a true friend to all of us.
Cynthia, I will miss you… You’re so much in a hurry to go to heaven. I will miss your visits here in Manila. You always make sure to call me when you’re around. I know you are in a better place. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered “Come to me”.
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away and although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
Our Dear Cynthia, you are loved and always have been, through every single day, by every single person, in every single way.
To your loved ones, Arnel your husband, your kids and your family, hold tight to memories for comfort, lean on your friends and family for strength, and always remember how much you are cared about.
Although no words can really help ease the loss you bear, just know that friends and family are praying for you. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I have fond memories of Ate Cynthia when she visited Kuya Dennis in Washington State. The most memorable one is her warm and beautiful smile. No matter what pain and suffering she is experiencing, she’s still able to smile. Her smile brings light into any room. I am privileged to have met you and thank you for sharing your last days with us here in Washington State. We will miss you!
