  1. Donnie will be fondly missed. I have many happy memories of the time we used to spend out on the farm together and in Sandy Lake. In spite of the fact that he struggled with his health in those early years I remember that he would always be up for whatever adventures we had in mind. Through all those years and for the many after I will always remember his laugh and willingness to laugh. However as the years passed his health started to be less of an issue and I started to be comfortable with the idea that he was going to be around for a long time and was shocked to learn of his passing. Lil, Andrew and Betty you have lost a wonderful brother and friend but I hope you find comfort in the fact that we all received the gift of many more years with him than any of us ever expected. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with Donnie and all of you and he will remain in our memories for the rest of our lives. God bless Donnie and all of you and your families.

  2. Well my friend you will truly be missed ,we had many great memories together from the many years of spending our summers growing up at Sandy Lake to when we both left that Saturday morning at 4am to make that journey to Fort McMurray to find jobs and make our fortunes. I will never forget the many years that we roomed together both in Fort McMurray and in Edmonton ,and how we nicknamed each other Pete ,our night caps and our trips down to Spokane to watch NHRA Drags, or trips to BC to check out the wineries , or the 20 years of you coming out to my hockey games and helping out behind the bench – you were such a big part of our Lions hockey team. I have never met such a more positive person considering the health issues you had to deal with you lived every day to the fullest you were an inspiration to all of us that new you . My deepest condolences to Betty, Andrew and Lil and your families. And what can I say Marlene you were the best thing that happened to Don he embraced you and your family and you had completed an important part of Don’s life , my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family .
