Jerry Robert Schafer
On May 6, 2016, Jerry Schafer of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 57.
He is survived by his loving mother Inez, brother Alan (Karen), niece Danielle and nephews; Blake, Adam and Dylan.
He was predeceased by his father Jerry in 1998 and his brother Randy in 2000.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

I was very sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing but in my heart I believe he has just set off on his next adventure. My favorite memory was when he came to Vancouver for Expo 86. We may have had ‘one too many’ dancing the night away and singing karaoke. Many laughs I won’t forget. Fly Jerry fly
We are saddened to hear about jerry’s passing but we believe that he is now in a better place.
For 3 years that I worked with him as one of his caregivers, I found out how amazing a person he was. He is always ready to help whenever he can which sometimes left him empty handed. Beside his condition, he shows me respect and patience which is hard to see on a lot of people. Others call him “big bro or buddy” as he was like a big brother but I call him “jerry boy” as reference to his lively (DJ) voice and youthful way of having fun. My time with him has lots of fun memories. Warm weather always remind me the almost daily bike ride circling beaumariz lake (which I end up giving my daughter the name “mariz”). A very positive and ambitious person,full of dreams and big ideas. R.I.P jerry and thank you for all your help to me and my family. You left us memories to treasure. 🙁 🙁 🙁

Jerry was a client and a friend. We first met Jerry many years ago at Gateway Alliance Church and continued our friendship. We had been trying to phone him since we got back from down south and the phone was no longer in service. What a shock to read his obituary. Our deepest sympathy goes out to your family.
