Kristopher David McHale

April 15, 2016 40 Condolences Print Obituary Send Flowers

Kris was born in Ottawa, Ontario – the 1st son to Len & Donna, brother to Ryan (Carly) and Uncle to Ceili and Emma. They moved to Gibbons, Alberta in July 1989, which is where resided until he moved into his own home in North Edmonton. Kris was known for working hard and living his life in a way most of us could only imagine – with a zest for adventure and appreciation for family & friends. Despite his lifetime of medical challenges, he lived as few men dared to dream and enjoyed life to the fullest.

Kris always appreciated the small things in life which was one of his many attributes that touched so many people in a positive way throughout his travels. Family and friends are left with the memories that will live on forever. Kris taught us all how precious life really is and to never waste a moment of it. That is how Kris lived and how he will be remembered!

Thank you for those who have sent special thoughts and prayers throughout this time.  Kris was predeceased by Aunt Jeanette & Aunt Patty and his Grandparents Hilary & Clare McHale.  We thank so many people for attending and loving Kris – grandparents Dave & Sandy Little of Corbyville, ON, Beryl Stovell & Andre Houle of Sundridge, ON, and all the many aunts & uncles and cousins from various locations.

We can take comfort from God’s word that tells us he’s aware of our pain. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 “Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.”

  27. Lennie, Donna and Ryan—-Thinking of you at this , the saddest time of your lives. There is nothing worse than losing a child. When we lost our son , a lady who had lost her son a couple of years before said to me ‘Dwell on the happy memories of your son”, which always makes me smile——took me a long time to start smiling again, though. Take care.

  28. Dwight and I send our deepest condolences to you Donna, Len, Ryan and extended family. I feel that I know you through the stories Kristopher so proudly shared of his family.

We were so deeply saddened to hear of Kristopher’s passing. I am still finding it hard to believe. You raised an incredible son! It was such a pleasure to work alongside him; we shared so much laughter together. He would wait for my flight from down east to arrive so we could have dinner together. His kindness was genuine and his smile infectious. We would share stories of our days off, laugh together, sometimes I would scold him for not taking care of himself while he was at home. He would joke with me and say, “now you sound like my mom”. After the stories were shared I would assure Kristopher I had his stock of candy in my luggage. I loved to see the excitement on his face when I would mention candy.

I have beautiful memories of a true friend that I will forever cherish in my heart. I wish the miles did not separate us, as Dwight and I would love to attend Kristopher’s Service of Celebration – a life well lived!!

Out thoughts are prayers are with each one of you. God bless you!
    With love, Sharon and Dwight

  30. Please accept our sympathies, and know that you are all in our prayers. Kris was one of those people you meet and immediately feel you’ve known forever. We worked with him at Wapasu, and spent time with him on days off in Edmonton, and he always made us laugh. His love of life was contagious, and he brightened up every room he entered. He worked with a lot of people, and everyone knew him and had a story about him to share. I never met one person who was ambivalent about Kris…he was loved by everyone.
