Mable Irene Gravel
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Mable I Gravel on Sunday, March 12, 2017 in Stony Plain, Alberta. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Keziah Goebel of Stony Plain, son Fred (Barb) Gravel of Lethbridge, son Keith Gravel (Doug Webster) of Edmonton, son Ken (Joan) Gravel of Barrhead, daughter Pat McPherson (Perry Wolk) of Calgary and her brother Dave (Chris) McNeilly of Kelowna along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mable was predeceased by her husband Edward Gravel and parents Lily and Allan McNeilly, brother Edwin, and sisters Lillie McNeilly and Joan Grant.
Mable was born and raised in Jasper, Alberta and spent most of her life in the Edmonton area teaching, and raising her family in smaller communities between there and Barrhead.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral but will instead be a gathering of remembrance later in the spring/summer.

Murray and Laurel are thinking of all of you. We have enjoyed knowing Mable and will miss the many phone calls we shared. Writing Kezia Harrison Brown’s history together has been really fun. Love to you all.
Dear Cousins;
I was so sorry to hear of the death of my dear cousin Mable. I always enjoyed her company so much. Mable had a good sense of humour and a fine sense of family. Family was important to her and she and I had many discussions about our McNeilly ancestry. Mable was great at taking her mother Lily to visit my mother and my Uncle Robert and Aunt Alma she was diligent in keeping touch with family. Mable did a great job of doing the James McNeilly family tree and forwarding it on to me. I congratulate Keith and any other family members who had a hand in writing your Mother’s obituary. It is very well done. My love and sympathy goes out to all her children, brother Dave and the rest of the family. We have lost a great and kind lady but her spirit will live on.

Mable was my happy cousin for eons! We spent all our childhood summers at North .Cooking Lake at granny Kezia’s cabin with the whole collection of little outlaws! What a crying shame it was to see the entire lake absolutely stuffed with greenery and no clear water whatsoever (2015).
Sorry to hear that Aunty Mable has passed. Our thoughts are with you. A mother’s love is so precious.

My condolences to the family. Aunty Mable was a very special Aunt to me and she will be missed at family gatherings. Please let me know when you are planning the gathering for her. It is so hard to say goodbye to your Mom but know that she is with you always in the wonderful memories you have stored in your heart.
Mable was a great Mom who loved her children fiercely and always made their friends feel welcome. Her feistiness and sense of humour will be sorely missed. Please accept our sincerest condolences.
