Marymae Alberta Olds

April 12, 1945 – August 7, 2015

Marymae was born in Edmonton, AB. Only daughter of the late Albert Russell Olds and Isabel Mary Shields. She passed valiantly into heaven eager to meet her Lord and Saviour at 70 years old after a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

Remembered by everyone for the cards and letters she sent faithfully for every occasion, all the phone calls, laughs, and smiles, her joyful and faithful heart. She is forever loved by her children Ruth Wadley (Darren) and Jonathan Huckabay (Marcela Pereyra); her grandchildren Paige, Julia and Kade Wadley; numerous relatives and countless friends.

Her final months were enriched by the exceptional care from long-time family doctor; Dr. Lai Man Ma, Dr. Pezeshki and all of the staff of Unit 52, Grey Nuns Hospital. Unit 43, Palliative Team, helped make her final days a peaceful transition. We cannot thank them enough for everything they have done.

  1. The loss of your mom is felt by so many people. For years she sent Les birthday cards, even when we lived in Ontario. She let us know that we were not forgotten, even though we were gone. The same is true for her. She will not be forgotten, she will be remembered with fondness and a smile. Thanks Marymae for making us feel loved. Rest in Daddy’s arms.

  2. Sorry for your loss, Ruth. Hugs to your family.

I am at peace knowing Marymae is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Marymae was a great inspiration to everyone she knew, and she never forgot to send her love, to friends, relatives and acquaintances with a card, flowers or a donation. 10. Our condolences to Ruth and Jonathan and your families on the passing of your mom. Praying for God’s peace to envelope you. You not only just lost your mom but your dad too recently. I’m so sorry for this. I was so glad to be able to chat with your mom recently. Praise God she is in her eternal home. Thanks for letting me know Ruth. Sorry I missed the funeral. I didn’t know about it. Blessings to all of you from the Jones family.

  11. I just recently found out and was surprised to hear of Marymae’s sudden passing. We were classmates in high school and lost touch
with one another – it was only about twenty years ago that we ran into each other thru a family member’s obituary – with my maiden
name. She contacted me and we reminisced about high school, went for lunch and from then on I received many gifts and cards.
Know this, Marymae cared more for people than she cared for material things. Once she became your friend, she was interested
in everything about you. I will miss her kind and thoughtful ways. I am glad that one day I will see her again in our heavenly home.
My deepest sympathy to her family, Ruth and Darren and children and Jonathen and Marcela. May God’s confort and peace
    be with you all.
