July 18, 2020 6 Condolences Print Obituary Send Flowers

On Friday, June 26, 2020, Allan Charles Gould, loving brother, passed away at the age of 61.

Allan was born on May 17, 1959 in Ottawa, Ontario to George and Lucienne Gould.

Allan, like all the members of his family, loved animals.  Throughout Allan’s life, he loved and cared for many pet cats who joyously came into his life and, as their years passed, very sadly left his wonderful care.  Those many furry loves of his life brought joy to Allan. Allan was very quick to introduce every one of them to his family and friends.

Allan had a passion for music and an unending yearning to make friends. Allan was the source of laughter for his brothers, sisters and all who came to meet him.  Many of those friendships were decades old going back to his childhood.  Allan loved to ride his bike. We can all imagine all of the songs Allan must have sung during his hours long bike rides.

Allan was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and laughter, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Allan was preceded in death by his very loving mother, Lucienne, his father, George and his twin brother Mark. He is survived by his brothers Derek (Janice) Gould, Steve Gould and Martin (Judy Karwacki) Gould, his sisters Michelle (George) Machan and Lorraine (Gary) McCartney, his niece Layla and his nephews, Mark, Luke and Blake.

Cremation has taken place and due to the Corona virus health concerns, a family celebration of life will take place at a later date.

  1. A celebration of Alan’s life. He kept us entertained many z times and on many of those occasions we celebrated together. May all his friends and family come together to remember a kind soul with a infectious laugh and always a comeback to boot. I am still laughing at some if his stories. R.I.P. Alan and cheers my friend.

    • Saddened to hear of my cousin Allan passing away. I remember him mostly as a child…his smile, his laughter. May all the family find strength in knowing that others are saddened by your loss. He is now with his twin brother and his wonderful mom.

  2. So sorry to hear of Al’s passing. He was one of the funniest guys we have ever know. He had a gift of bringing laughter to tjosr around him. Rest In Peace Al😌💕

  3. So sorry to hear this. He was truly a great man. So full of life. I’ll always remember our ‘Gould Christmas’ at the farm. Al sharing how he was very happy and had all he needed. Much laughter and joy. RIP Al.

  4. So sorry to hear this news. Condolences to the family and all friends that knew and loved Allan. He was a character. My first thoughts were of his joy of simple humour….he was a glass half full guy. As Mitch says, “Rest in peace Al…and be well everybody”.

  5. To the Gould family,
I was very saddened to hear the news of Alan’s passing. He was a true childhood friend. He, Denis and I were like the three stooges for many years. We even developed our own invented language that only we could understand. Alan’s laugh and sense of humour were one of a kind. We had so many fun little adventures growing up and hanging out in Gravelbourg. Lucienne, his mom, had to deal with all of our antics, yet was a patient and gracious host. Alan loved music and shared the joy of his vinyls with his friends. He made me discover Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath. In our elementary school years, he always had the latest albums, especially the metal stuff. Alan loved to hop around and dance to the tunes… I can see him doing that now in my mind’s eye.

Though we lost touch after our high school years, I will always remember Alan as a fun-loving, humorous guy with an infectious joie-de-vivre. My condolences to the Gould family. Rest in peace, Alan.
