Yoga Master

August 02, 1976 to February 17, 2017

Our beloved son, Christopher died suddenly on the evening of February 17, 2017. He is survived by his devastated loving parents, mother and step-father, Suzanne Eve and Drury Heffernan, and father and step-mother, Mark Carroll and Lorraine Burton-Carroll. His grieving siblings are Lee Kenneth Carroll, step-sister, Melany Heffernan, step-brother, Kery Heffernan, and step-sister Brittany Burton. Christopher is survived by Grandma and Grandpa Eve and four generations of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He leaves behind his beloved cats Gemma Morrison Hemmingway, Twelve Christopher Hemmingway, and Six the Cat. Family was of utmost importance to Christopher and his definition of family had nothing to do with genetics and everything to do with heart and spirit. Christopher lived his life in his own way and made no apologies for it. He was fiercely passionate about yoga and nature. He was a committed camper and loved nothing better than sleeping under the stars. His dream was to live simply in a cabin by a lake. Christopher was a peaceful man with a generous heart and a great sense of humor. His last words to his mother, written days before his death were “Stop procrastinating. Stop holding on. Just move. Travel. Do something different.” He will be deeply missed.

  1. Rest in Peace Cripsoder. A gentle soul no doubt. He leaves an emptiness in all our hearts forever. My deepest condolences to us all. I hope he finds gramC. She loved him so much

  2. My condolences to the entire family. I am so sorry for your loss. Chris had such a huge heart and will be missed by all who knew him.

  3. I am beyond words, I honestly don’t know where or how to start… I can only imagine how you all are feeling. Chris always marched to the beat of his own drum and did so with flare. Chris, you were a soul that was ahead of it’s time, had a heart of gold, and emanated a gentleness that could be felt as soon you walked in the room.
My deepest sympathies to all that are suffering this loss- may God hold you in the palm of his heart. . My love to all.
Chris, you are and always will be dearly missed. See you next life time.

  4. My sincere condolences to the entire family. May his memory be eternal and his spirit free.

  5. I am truly shocked to hear this sad news.
My deepest condolences to all the family.
Christopher will forever be remembered as my friend and I will miss him deeply.

  6. Chris was a kind and generous friend to me in my early teens. Although we weren’t in touch frequently, he was the kind of friend who I knew if we did meet up, it would seem like no time had passed. He simply had that gift of deeply connecting to people and was an old soul as they say. Please accept my deepest sympathies for this immense loss.

  7. So sorry for your loss, we all loved Chris and will always have a special place in our hearts, peace be with the whole family at this time.

  8. My condolences to Chris’ family. I remember him coming to my house with my son Kim.He was a very witty guy, and very gentle. He will be missed.

  9. I am truly saddened and shocked by Chris’s passing
He was an awesome friend and we had some great times
We grew apart but I always recalled our antics when were young and crack a smile
Rest in peace my old friend
My sincere condolences to the Carroll family and all those that Chris touched in his life

  10. My deepest sympathies to Chris’s family, my heart and prayers are with you

  11. I am so shocked and saddened by Christopher’s passing… my deepest condolences go to his family and friends. I got to know him quite well in the past few years and we became true friends. I miss him terribly.

  12. My heart goes out to all with my biggest hugs to Mark and Suzanne.

  13. Chris truly was one of a kind. These last few days have been a mix of emotions, he will be missed. My strongest condolences to Mom and Lee and the rest of the family. Also to the old gang back in montreal who love Chris and will always remember the many ways he made all of us laugh. Goodbye my friend and brother, I will always remember your best qualities there were many.

  14. I am very saddened by Chris’s sudden passing. Chris was a significant part of my life growing up in Montreal. Even then he was thoughtful, insightful, and fiercely passionate about things that excited him (I recall a period of time when we were young when he thought he was Luke Skywalker). Reading posts from his friends who knew him in his adult life, I see that he continued to show those qualities and through them have touched the lives of many, many people. Rest in peace Chris, you will be missed.

  15. I’m shocked and speechless. You definitely knew how to makes us laugh. We had great times back in the day. My heart goes out to Lee and the family.
    You will be missed Chris.

  16. Christopher always left me feeling more joy than before he had entered the room. This is the only way such a free spirit could become even more free. “Death is the greatest adventure.” -Peter Pan. Bon voyage, buddy.

  17. I am shocked to hear of Christopher’s untimely passing. I will always remember his sense of humour and love of beautiful things. I send my deepest condolences to his family in this time of grief. I will never forget the time I spend with Chris in Victoria and in Montreal where he welcomed me at his home. May he rest in peace and pass into heaven where we will see him again; he will live on in our hears. Bon Voyage, love you Chris! Love and prayers from Gwyneth.

  18. I am so sorry for your loss. What an absolute travesty. He will surely missed. Peace Curly. xx super glad to have known you. I still have your business card from the day we met. Shocked by your departure – someone was calling you home you answered and now you are drinking beer and doing yoga together. Get my dad in on that! He thought you were hilarious. ?? xoxox

  19. Christopher’s sudden passing is a great loss to many. Our thoughts and sympathies to his family (the four-legged members, too, of course), friends, and students.

  20. No words can express the heartbreak you are going through. Know love and prayers are with you as you move forward without Christopher. Christopher will always be with you each day, that wisp of air, the smell of your favourite flower, a song; and so much more every momemt of every day. These words are not to make you sad but to treasure all the memories, there are many. We will see you soon….love Nancy and Brian

  21. I will miss you. ‘Curly’
