It is with incredible sadness we say goodbye to our wonderful Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister and Auntie Edith. On March 8, 2019, Edith passed away peacefully to join the love of her life, Matthew, whom she has missed dearly for the past 22 years.

Edith was born in Warsaw, Poland and immigrated to Alberta in 1928. Her family homesteaded in Onoway, Alberta until her dad passed away and her mom moved back to Spruce Grove where she raised 3 children alone. Edith married Matthew in 1948 and they lived in Spruce Grove. In 2013 she moved to West Country Hearth in Villeneuve, Alberta.

Edith loved her family and will be greatly missed by her children: Leonard (Norma), Dennis (Denise) and Joanne (Barry) Vanderwell ; 7 grandchildren: Angie Sych, Todd Druar, Tory (Arnelle) Druar, Lori Hagen, Dan (Bernadette) Vanderwell, Adrian (Carmen)Vanderwell, Kim (Ilya) Khalamov; 10 great grandchildren: Tori and Jordan Sych, Brayden and Dawson Druar, Hailey and Marissa Hagen, Derrick and Blake Vanderwell, Brandi, and Dwight Vanderwell; brother Otto Kruger and numerous nieces and nephews.

Edith was predeceased by her husband Matthew, her brother Edmund and her sister in law, Dorothy Kruger.

  2. Sending our condolences. Aunt Edith was such a wonderful person. She had a heart of gold. She always had that beautiful smile every time we saw her. She will alway be in our hearts.
