George Henry Neilson
On Sunday, January 27, 2019, George Neilson, of Edmonton, passed away peacefully at the age of 89.
He will be missed by his wife Lillian (née Harrison), his two daughters Lynn (Doug), Deborah (Mike), his four grandchildren, Michael, Krista (Jared), Alaina (Brock), Kendra, his six great grandchildren, his sister Jean and brother John (Susan), along with his many other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Liz, his son Bob, and his siblings Marion, Evelyn and Francis.
He was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed golf, the outdoors at their acerage, and going south for the winter for the last 38 years for more golf.
The family cannot thank the staff at Lynnwood Capital Care 4th floor Parker enough for the wonderful care he received.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice in George's name.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
I would like to extend my sincere condolences to George’s family. My mother-in-law is being cared for at 4th Parker where I had the opportunity to meet George on his first day there. He introduced himself and we had very pleasant conversation. Each time I visited I made a point of conversing with him and I enjoyed his pleasant manner. I will miss seeing him. Blessings to the family as you deal with your huge loss.
