It is with deep sadness that the family of Linda Nagy announces her passing on March 31st, 2018, in Edmonton, Alberta, at the age of 67 after a long, hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Linda was born and raised in Wainwright, Alberta, where she met Eugene, her husband of 44 years. Along with being a loving wife and mother, she was passionate about music, cooking, and travelling.

She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Gary Cook; and her siblings, Lawrence, Eileen, Kathy, and Marilyn. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband Eugene, her daughter Lindsey (Steve), her brother Walter (Virginia), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Linda was an extraordinary woman who touched so many lives and will continue to live on in their hearts.

  7. I am very sad to hear this news. Linda was my childhood friend and she brought music into my life. She was my bridesmaid almost 44 years ago. We kind of lost touch over the years but my heart breaks for you Gene and Lindsay. I am full of sweet memories today of our childhood and growing up years. We lived together in Edmonton when we first moved here.
    I know the few times we got together she was full of pride and love for her family. She was so proud of you Lindsay. Take care and my condolences to you both.

  12. I am so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing, she was my sister in law and imy son Trevor is her nephew , she was so full of fun, her music was heartwarming, we had a lot of fun, will never forget her laughter..

  16. Deep condolences Gene and Lindsay. So heartbroken for the loss of our longtime friend.
    Many fond memories flooding back of a fun and gracious lady.
    Memories of long hours sitting around the bonfire at the lake all listening and singing along to her lyrics and beautiful voice. She would break into “Jambalaya” and we would all join in.
    She surrounded herself with music and was such a gifted talent.
    Full of life, she would call out “Sha-boopy”–laugh–then jump up and click her heels
    together. None of us knew what it meant but would always burst into fits of laughter at
    her playful antics.
    She and Gene were galvanized in their strong pride and love for Lindsay. Her memory will endure in our hearts and live on with family and friends.
    Linda sings in Heaven now.

  19. Deepest sympathy on your great loss—Linda was always full of fun and music. I can’t remember any dance or concert growing up that she didn’t participate in either voluntarily or by the encouragement from her peers. She was so talented and she will be missed by many.
