Carol Elaine Scherban (Repka)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beautiful Mother, Carol Scherban. We are grateful that she was in the comforts of home and surrounded by her immediate family and a few close friends.

Carol was such a bright light in the lives of so many people. She felt deeply for others and gave generously of her time and love, always ready to listen, comfort and uplift. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious. She approached each day with energy and purpose. Her laughter and humor turned ordinary moments into cherished memories.

She had an extra spark in her joy that made everyone around her feel lighter. Above all, Carol was endlessly inspiring - With integrity, grace and a genuine “Zest for Life” she showed through her actions that love, strength and kindness are the most beautiful legacies that a person can leave. She will be profoundly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Carol will be lovingly remembered by her children Karyn and Brian Scherban, brother Terry Repka, daughter in law Peggy Seto, grandchildren Emilia and Makai, a large extended family and a legion of friends.

We look forward to sharing with you, Carol’s “Celebration of Life” come Spring. Details of the event will be forthcoming.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Home Care and Palliative Care Teams and the Physicians and Nurses of the Cross Cancer Institute for their kindness and compassion. Their very important work does not go unnoticed.

In lieu of flowers, Carol’s wish was that donations kindly be made to the Mental Health Foundation of Edmonton.
