  3. Good bye Friend Ray.
For 23 years Ray shared a fence with Lori and me. We had almost daily conversations on everything from robins and magpies to taxes and politics. We shoveled each other’s sidewalks in winter, and shared gardening tips in summer. Our neighbour Ray was solid man of integrity and caring. He protected the neighbourhood against vandals, yet felt compassion for the homeless garbage-pickers.
A man of great pride, his property was always in immaculate condition. He respected his tenants and neighbours.
Now you are gone, Ray. But I often see you out of the corner of my eye, turn quickly with joy, but it isn’t you. I am reminded of our loss every week. Gone but definitely not forgotten.
