  1. It is with great sadness that I learn today of the passing of Ron. I had the pleasure of working with Ron as a Canadian Ski Patroller. Ron had such a passion for people and for serving those around him. He set a tremendous example as he welcomed and mentored many young people in the ski patrol. His smile was infectious and his warmth toward others genuine. He spoke so passionately about Karen and his children and especially his grandchildren.

Please accept my condolences may you take comfort in knowing he is home.

  2. Our hearts go out to your family with the parting of this fine man. An example of dedication to his family, friends, high principles, the gospel of Jesus Christ and to the well-being mankind. He will be missed by one and all!

  3. Dear family
7 years ago I came from Switzerland to Canada. Not knowing lots of people I decided to join the Ski Patrol. Ron and I took the Rookie Course the same year.
I met him always with a smile on his face and a good word.
It makes me sad to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to you in this difficult time.
Unfortunately I am not able to attend the funeral on Saturday but my thoughts are with you all.
    Sincerely
    Erika Baumgartner

  4. so sorry to hear this. he was a nice man.

  5. Our sincere condolences to Ron’s family and friends.
Ron was a model Canadian Ski Patrol volunteer at Rabbit Hill Snow Resort since his first year in the fall of 2011. His attention to detail and kindness while assisting our guests at Rabbit Hill was always appreciated. Attending to injured guests or assisting others in need was done with a true sense of thoughtfulness and caring. For that we will be eternally grateful.
He will be truly missed by Rabbit Hill staff that worked along side him and by his fellow volunteer and Pro Patrol friends.

  6. Hi Karen and kids. I’m sorry, Karen; I was away for the weekend when you called. I called back and left a message on Ron’s voicemail. I still see Ron’s picture, and am in shock that he is not a call away. I am so very sorry for his loss to your family, and from the world. He was such a wonderful, multi-faceted human being. I loved him for his rough upbringing that he used, with maturity and perspective, to temper the person he was through the years that I knew him. His faith, his experience, and his kindness were a noble, unique combination that will surely be missed. That I will miss in my life.

I cannot be at his funeral. I wish I could rearrange my schedule to be there, but it is a celebration of my own father’s 80th birthday in Lethbridge on that same day. I cannot miss that, as it is a large family gathering. So…I will silently give Ron a moment of reflection on Saturday, and offer your family my sincerest condolences.

  7. The Canadian Ski Patrol members of the Edmonton Zone will miss The dedication Ron gave to our zone. He will be remembered by all of us who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family in this difficult time.
