Sarah Margaret Flynn (McCulloch), formerly of Nova Scotia, lived her life with her family in Edmonton, AB, until her passing on May 11, 2017 at the age of 85.

Cherished wife of the late Bert Reginald Flynn and devoted mother of 6 children; Kevin (Wanda) Flynn, Gary (Linda) Flynn, Wanda (Rocco) Romano, Crystal MacDonald, Karen (Bruce) Crosbie and Angela Flynn (Robert Puff).

She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Elizabeth Flynn, Carrie Flynn, Troy Flynn, Mike Philips, Landon Flynn, Lasha Holtz, Anna Romano, Nicola Romano, Lasey Supervich, Corey Macdonald, Ashley Flynn, Natasha Flynn, Jessica Flynn and Chelsea Flynn, as well as 24 great grandchildren, sister Hanna Moors, brother Charlie McCulloch and sister Ruby Tymo.

Sarah was predeceased by her parents Alonzo and Mary McCulloch, sisters Georgina Greenslate, Emily McCulloch and Eva McCulloch, brothers Rufus McCulloch, Eric McCulloch and Harding McCulloch, as well as grandchildren Trevor Barkhouse, Tanya Flynn and Lisa Flynn, brothers-in-law Rudy Tymo and Ivan Moors, and sister-in-law Lois McCulloch.

Sarah was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother all her life. Many of the friends and family called her Nanny. She loved working in her gardens, was well loved and will be dearly missed by all.

Thank you to Dr. Barton and all of the palliative care staff for their patience and care during our mother’s illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, College Plaza, 8215 112 Street NW, Edmonton, in Sarah’s name.

  1. Words cannot express the sadness I felt when I heard of Aunt Margs’ passing. So many wonderful memories come flooding back when her name is mentioned. Our deepest condolences to the family. She will be greatly missed especially her laughter and her giving nature.
