It’s with incredible sadness that we announce the passing of our sweet mother and grandma, Sonia Jenneth Garneau after a sudden and short illness.

Her smile, love of life, infectious laughter, along with her homemade bread, pies and pickles will be missed by all.

She was loved by us (her two daughters) and our husbands; Monica (Ferg) Sullivan and Mindy (Jared) Sayers, her cherished grandkids; Ryley, Kyle, Lia and Jana, sister Leda Zuk, numerous brother and sister in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.

She was pre-deceased in 1990 by her husband Paul Garneau.

A private burial will take place next week, but due to the COVID-19 situation, a celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the amazing Intensive Care Unit at the Misericordia Hospital (donations can be sent to:  The Covenant Foundation 3C60 11111 Jasper Avenue Edmonton, AB  T5K 0L4  phone: 780.342.8126 website: covenantfoundation.ca)  Many thanks to all of the doctors and nurses on this unit, especially nurses Rawad, Rachel and Jenn.

In the spring, Mom would be happy if you planted a special flower or vegetable in your garden in her honour.  She always loved to make the world a little more beautiful.
