Jose Avelino Carreiro

On April 29, 2026 Mr. Jose Avelino Rodrigues Carreiro of Edmonton, passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Maria de Fatima; his daughter Coreen (Steven) Shamchuk; his three grandchildren: Sienna Shamchuk, Kamron and Mackenzie Carreiro as well as many relatives and dear friends.

Born on April 7, 1944 in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores to Gilberto Raposo and Irene Pereira Rodrigues Carreiro. He arrived in Edmonton, Alberta on April 19, 1970 and married the love of his life Maria de Fatima Correia Arruda on April 23, 1970.
