Eunice Alice Cutting (Powell)
Eunice Alice Cutting (Powell) passed away on March 8, 2026, in St. Albert, Alberta, at the age of 88.
Eunice was born on April 7, 1937, in Oldham, England, and was raised modestly in nearby Middleton by her parents, Clinton and Lena. An only child, she was a keen student who developed a lifelong love of reading. She studied for two years at the Manchester College of Technology, training to become a librarian.
Her Christian faith was central to her life, and it was at church that she met Cyril at the age of 19. He quickly became the love of her life, and they were married on August 6, 1960.
Eunice and Cyril began their life together in the United Kingdom before moving to Canada in 1967 to pursue Cyril’s ministry. Edmonton later became their long-time home, where they raised their three sons.
Eunice and Cyril enjoyed travelling together, including several trips back to England and visits throughout Europe. Later in life, Victoria, British Columbia became a favourite retreat, where the early spring blossoms brought Eunice great joy. California was also a cherished winter destination.
Eunice was a devoted and loving wife and mother whose deep Christian faith guided her life and served as an inspiration to her family and to all who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Cyril; her sons, Philip (Angela), Roger (Dina), and Stephen (Shauna); five grandchildren, Alyssa (Justin), David, Jacob (Alexa), Nathan, and Brooke; and one great-grandchild, Jasper.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
