Francis Jonathan Washbrook

Francis Jonathan Washbrook, lovingly known as Jay, passed away unexpectedly October 19, 2026 in Edmonton.

Born February 17, 1983, to parents Francine Washbrook and John Dawn, Jay spent his childhood in Sydney, Nova Scotia before moving and staying in Edmonton.

After high-school, Jay found a lasting career with 7-11 spanning nearly 25 years.

Jay was an avid reader. His favourite book series being the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. He loved video games and was a trinket collector extraordinaire having proudly displayed his collections of swords, rocks, stolen fossils, books, Lego, movies and coins.

Jay loved his friends, and especially enjoyed their yearly traditional mens only camping trip, where he promptly spent the week getting sloshed and eating the finer foods in life, like fire chili, and meat...all the meats followed by the meat sweats.

Jay is survived by his sister (Cindy), brother (Matthew) and numerous family members. He was predeceased by Francine (mom) and John (dad).

As per Jay's wishes there will be no services held. He will be cremated and taken back home to Nova Scotia.
