Robert (Rob) Edwin Page Gratrix, age 49 years, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026. He is survived by his children; son Brandon and daughter Brooklyn, and their mother Jackie, his parents Terry and Lynn, his brother Ryan (Janina), his sister Michelle (Marty) and nieces Kaitlynn, Alexandra, and his grandmother Barbara Gratrix. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends, especially Vicky Penner and Josh Bennett.

He was predeceased by grandfather Edwin Lewis Gratrix, grandparents Jerry and Pearl Cherneske, aunts Wanda Cherneske and Myrna Gratrix, uncles Rick Gratrix, Darcy Chambers, Gary Phillips, cousin William Taralson, and Gary Helgason.

Robert’s love of life, optimism, generosity, friendships, and intelligence left a lasting influence on everyone around him. He loved his family and friends, and his children were always his first priority. His dogs, Casper and Whiskey, held a special place in his heart.

He had a rare gift; he connected with people effortlessly because he genuinely cared about their well-being. He lived with the belief that you should make the best of each day. Robert was spontaneous and always had a smile for everyone and he brought energy, laughter, and warmth wherever he went. He embraced life fully and genuinely wanted the best for everyone around him.

Rob’s kindness and willingness to help others were constants in his life. Rob found joy in being around his family, friends, and co-workers, who meant so much to him. He spent his younger years living on an acreage, where he developed a deep love for the outdoors. Then he moved to the city and grew up loving sports of all kinds, from soccer to hockey and golfing, but nothing compared to his love for the Oilers. He cherished every getaway, from weekends of camping at Sylvan Lake to memorable trips to Las Vegas, Mexico, and Cuba.

Robert will be sadly missed by his children, his family, and the wonderful friends whose lives he has touched.
He will forever remain in our hearts and memories. “May God hold him in His Loving Arms.” May Robert Rest In Peace.
You will Always be Loved and Remembered.

Too young to be a son whose parents grieve,
Too young to be a father taken away,
Too young to be a loss felt by his brother and sister,
A hole in their lives that words can’t say,
A life still full of love to give,
A presence gone too soon from each new day,
Yet, in every memory, every heart,
His love still lives, it hasn’t gone,
A son forever, a father always,
Carrying on in those who loved him still.
