Douglas Michael Lloyd Ropchan

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Douglas Michael Lloyd Ropchan of Willingdon, Alberta. He passed away peacefully at the age of 71 years on June 24, 2026 with his two children by his side.

Doug leaves behind his loving children, Samantha and Nicolas (Lize); two brothers, Claude (Janet) and Morley; and numerous extended family members and close friends.

Doug spent almost 33 years as an City of Edmonton Police Officer and spent his retirement in the place he loved most - the farm he grew up on.

Our family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the University of Alberta Hospital and Lamont Health Care Centre for their care.

At Doug’s request, a funeral service will be not be held.

In lieu of floral tributes, the family requests memorial donations to Lamont Health Care Centre.
