
Gary Vaughn Charles Bennett
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Vaughn Charles Bennett, who passed away peacefully at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre on July 7, 2026, at the age of 74.
Gary was born on June 16, 1952, in Saint John, New Brunswick. He was a skilled electrician who took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. Outside of work, Gary found his greatest enjoyment in harness racing, fishing, and hunting. He loved the outdoors and appreciated the simple pleasures of life.
Gary was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick Bennett and Margaret Bennett; his son, Joseph Bennett; and his brother, Brian Bennett.
He leaves behind his loving daughter, Lee Anne Bennett; his cherished granddaughter, Maxine Beauregard, her husband, Robyn Beauregard, and their four sons. He is also lovingly remembered by his late son Joseph’s wife, Raelene, and their children, Brody and Kenzie. Gary is survived by his sister, Anne Patterson and her husband, Carl Patterson; his brother, Paul Bennett and his wife, Pierrette Bennett; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Gary will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of harness racing, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, and for the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him. His kindness, strength, and quiet presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
As per his wishes, cremation took place on July 10, 2026.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre for the care, kindness, and dignity they provided to Gary.
