
Hal (Harold) Kitchen
Harold (Hal) Arthur Kitchen, 97, of Edmonton, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026.
Born in Edmonton to Nelson and Eveline Kitchen, Harold grew up in Westmount with a deep love of adventure and independence. His many careers spanned Oil Rigger, Fisherman and Real Estate Developer but was most proud of being a Paratrooper and a Policeman.
Harold served his country honourably as a Paratrooper with the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry and then as a Police Officer with the Jasper Place Police Department. Outside of work, Harold had a generous spirit, was an avid hunter and a passionate sportsman. His adventures and activities spanned all genre and he spent countless hours in nature hunting. Harold’s adventurous spirit inspired his daughter, Kaz, to embrace the challenges of skydiving.
Harold is survived by his children, Frances Pickering, Nelson Kitchen, Kazza Nakano and Ralph Kitchen and his seven grandchildren, Riley, Ben, Sam, Georgia, Kiyoko, Kimiko, Carl, Ann and Austin..,He is also survived by his sister Irene Lakeman and his brother Hedley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nelson and Eveline Kitchen, his partner Doreen Long and his son Allen.
