Aubrey Geis

Aubrey Geis, 81, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on September 19, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Aubrey was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to Denise and Felix Geis. After moving to Edmonton with his parents and sisters, Rita and Yvette, he maintained strong ties to his extended family in Saskatchewan throughout his life.

A devoted family man, Aubrey treasured time spent with his two daughters, Ashley and Barbara, his son, Jason, and his many close friends. Some of his happiest moments were spent at the cabin he built at Baptiste Lake, where family and friends gathered to create lasting memories.

Beyond his dedication to family and friends, Aubrey was deeply committed to serving his community. He gave generously of his time and talents through public service, serving as President of the Edmonton Chapter of the Merit Contractors Association of Alberta, President of the Belmead Community League, and, for many years, Mayor of the Summer Village of Sunset Beach.

Aubrey's commitment, determination, and strong work ethic were evident in everything he undertook. These qualities were exemplified by the fact that he maintained his designation as a Master Electrician until the age of 78. He remained active in floor curling and the C.O.L.D. Respiratory Problems Club of Alberta until the final months of his life.

Aubrey is lovingly remembered by his sisters, Rita and Yvette; his long-time partner, Eloise; his children, Ashley (Matt), Barbara (Dean), and Jason; the mother of his children, Stella; and the many relatives and friends whose lives he touched.

He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to others, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew him.
