June 28, 2022 4 Condolences Print Obituary Send Flowers

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Betsy. Cancer took our sweet Mama, at the young age of just 58. She passed quietly and peacefully on June 22, 2022 with family by her side.

She is survived by her husband Duane, her 4 children: Wesley (Krysta), Bailey (Chris), Brett, Becky (Alec) and her 8 (soon to be 9) Grandkids (Kadence, Jace, Owen, Quinn, Greyson, Harper, Isaac, and Arlo). Her sisters (Terrie, Corena, Krista), her brothers (Murray, Russ, Willy), her Mother Edna, and her Best Friend, Shawna. She is predeceased by her Father, Jack, and her Mother in Law, Irene.

Betsy was the most selfless person, always putting others before herself, and making sure others knew they were loved. Her greatest joy in life came from getting together with family, and watching her grandkids play. She lived for the simple things in life, and her favourite place to be was gathered around the fire roasting hotdogs at the farm.

She was deeply loved by so many, and will be greatly missed. Forever in our memories and our hearts.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Cross-Cancer Institute. Mom spoke so highly of everyone she encountered during her time there. They would also like to thank the staff at the Grey Nuns Palliative Care unit 43 for taking care of our Beloved Mom during her final days.

At Betsy’s request, there will be no formal service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Betsy’s name to the Alberta SPCA.

  2. We were so sad to hear of Betsy’s passing. She was such a great person great personality and always made sure when she was doing your hair you were satisfied with the outcome. Kay, my mom was a very loyal customer going to get her hair done by either Betsy or Shawna. They always knew how to cut her naturally curly hair. Myself (Sheryl) was always pleased with how she did my hair. Dishes was a beautiful person inside and out. May she rest in peace. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.

  4. I was so very sorry to hear about Betsy. She was an absolute Gem of a Lady . I have known her for over 30 years and she always talked about how proud she was of her kids and grandkids and how much she loved you all. She also talked about being on farm and having hot dogs around the fire with all of her family. She so looked forward to those times. Over the years we shared many laughs and a few tears. I will miss her dearly . I wish peace and memories for you all as she would have wanted that for you .
