It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Barbara Moerkerk of Edmonton after a long battle with cancer.

Barb was an incredibly loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her husband of 61 years, Garry, by her 3 children - Mark, Chris and Kimberly, and by her 7 granddaughters - Remy, Aleka, Aidyn, Ella, Maddie, Paige & Cassidy.

Barb grew up on the family farm north of Parkbeg, Sask. She and Garry married young, and resided in numerous prairie locations, wherever Garry’s bank elected to transfer him. In each of these 23 different homes, Barb established a warm and loving environment for family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at the family cottage in Saskatchewan.

  2. Barb was a warm and welcoming neighbour at the lake she always had a smile and kind words. She will be missed! So sorry for your loss.

  3. We were so very very Sorry to hear of Barb’s passing!! We so enjoyed their company in Riverhurst when we got together!!! We have since moved to Medicine Hat, but keep in touch with Doug and Faye, which is who let us know the sad news…. Take Care to all who Barb cherished!!!!!!!!!
