With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Claudette Marie Mastrovito on December 27th at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Claudette was a loving mother, wife, daughter and sister. She wished to stay at home for the duration of her illness and thankfully she was able to. She passed with her daughter in law Shawna by her side. She will be missed by her loving husband Mike, son Matthew, daughter in law Shawna, granddaughter Giada, daughter Angela, son in law Andrew, granddaughters Emma and Abbey and her dog Trixie. She will also be missed by her mother Rita, sister Doris and brothers Bill and Victor as well as their spouses and children. She was predeceased by her father Hubert. Claudette requested to be cremated and did not want a funeral. We are honouring her request.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Edmonton Humane Society.

I will look for you in every flower that blooms, in every sun that rises and sets, and in all things beautiful in this world.

  1. My forever friend, I shall always miss you. We played together as children, went through our teenage years together. We met our husbands together. Raised our kids together. For many, many, years you, Mike, Ernie and I celebrated all the special occasions together. A better friend, I could never ask for. So, as you walked by my side throughout the years; we will walk beside Mike and your family. God blessed me with your friendship and I shall always cherish the memories we made together. Love you my friend.

  2. Our deepest condolences go out to Mike, Angie, Mattthew and your families. Claudette was first like family to me (“Auntie Claudette”) and as I grew, she became a coworker and good friend. She will be forever missed. Love and hugs to you all.

  3. Our deepest condolences to Mike, Angie, Matthew and their families. Claudette was like family and will be missed. Love and hugs to all of you.

  4. Claudette was a U of A Pharmacy classmate of mine, graduating in 1972. She was a very warm, kind and quiet lady who worked very hard at university. I’m so very sorry to hear of her family’s loss and know that I will miss her demeanour and strength which she exhibited throughout her challenges in life.
