Harold Knopke

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Harold Knopke. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, grandfather, and great friend to many. He will be dearly missed.

Our favourite memory is the corn roasts which we had the pleasure of attending with daughter Karen. The old fashioned games From my childhood were so much fun and the corn was delicious. A wonderful event every time! Thanks for including us! So sorry for your loss Shirley.

I am very sorry to hear of Harold’s passing. I have memories of Harold leading RMSSC blue cycling groups around the city and sharing time together on a Canmore bike trip. He was a great leader and a kind man.

Here at Solar Alberta, we have been taking some time to reflect on Harold’s many contributions to our organization over the years. There are now over 47,000 homes and businesses with solar in Alberta and Harold helped to make this happen. Alberta would not have become the solar powerhouse of Canada without dedicated forward thinking volunteers like Harold.
Thank you to Shirley and the entire family for naming Solar Alberta among the causes most important to Harold. How much can a family stand losing so many of their loved ones within such a short time.?
My memories of Hazel were as a fellow leader in the Maywood Division. We were leaders and our daughters both Rangers (which is a senior branch branch of Girl Guides).
They were treasured friends to myself and my daughter Joanne.
