Hedwig (Haitie) Theodora Tchir

It is with great sorrow and much love we mourn the passing of our wonderful Mother, Baba, and Great Baba, Hedwig (Haitie) Tchir. Haitie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, at the age of 97, in her own place at Chartwell Emerald Hills. Haitie was born in a small NE community of Lac Canard, AB on Sept. 11, 1929 to her dear parents of Gerard and Johanna Thoben.

Haitie will be dearly missed by her daughter, Valerie (Bryan) Nakonechny; her beloved grandsons, Brett (Ashley) and Scott Nakonechny; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Noelle and Kane Nakonechny. She was also grateful for the companionship of her weekly visitors, Caroline and Gloria, and cherished the love and support of her extended Nakonechny family. Her sister-in-law, Pat, will especially miss their telephone chats, and she will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

While her passing leaves a profound loss for those who loved her, Haitie will be reunited with her parents, her two sons (David & Jerry), her husband (Joseph), and many cherished family members and friends who predeceased her.

A Funeral Mass will be held in Haitie's honour
Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.

Cremation has taken place, and arrangements have been entrusted to Trinity Funeral Home.
