Surrounded by his loving family, Jose Freitas of Edmonton passed away peacefully on July 19, 2015 at the age of 83 years.
He will be forever remembered by his loving wife of 58 years, Maria Zita; five children: Jose (Eduarda), Joel (Colette), Ana, Susan (Brad) and Leonia (Jim); eleven grandchildren: Wendy (Steve), Wesley, Lance, Tyler, Evan, Cameron, Travis, Jenna, Chantelle, Allysa and Noah; his great-grandson Abel, as well as numerous relatives and many dear friends.

Maria and this big huge loving family – Words cannot express what we are feeling with this tremendous loss in our hearts. Joe and Maria have been amazing neighbors of mine for 10 years. More wonderful neighbors I could not ask for – no not neighbors – an adopted dad and mom. Joe was a character and could always make you laugh – he was a neighborhood icon – Keep the wonderful memories of him in your heart – talk about him – love him for he is not gone – he is an angel forever on your shoulders.
