On Sunday July 19, 2026 Manuel Pires of Edmonton, AB passed away at the age of 94 years.
Manuel will be lovingly remembered by his three children: Helen (Jorge) Castelo Branco, Carlos (Lori) and Walter; two lovely grandchildren: Anabella and Jacqueline; three great-grandchildren, as well as many other family and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, and wife Maria in 2023.

My grandfather Manuel was pure joy: he was always smiling, he loved a bit of good pop music and, to me, he was a real magician. As a little girl, I used to be amazed watching him come out of the water, shake his hair, and have it dry straight away. ✨
The real magic was the love and light he brought into our lives. We’ll miss you so much, my dear Grandad. We’ll miss you forever. 🤍🕊️
