October 22, 1952 - February 14, 2023

On February 14, 2023, Mr. Michele Caputo of Edmonton passed away at the age of 70 years; he is survived by his spouse, Pauline; his son Peter (Judy) Caputo; his daughter Francesca Caputo; two granddaughters: Mariah and Alyssa; his mother Francesca of Italy; four sisters, one brother as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many dear friends in Canada and Italy.

He was predeceased by his father, Pietro.

Michele Caputo was loving and caring, and his smile was infectious. Michele loved the outdoors, he loved fishing and hunting, but his true passion was gardening; he would spend hours in the garden.

He loved going to the Camrose animal auction on Saturdays, always coming back with something. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching them play with his rabbits; he loved his granddaughters; they were his little princesses.

Michele loved his family and was always the first to help when someone needed it.

Michele will be missed, and forever in our hearts, he was a true present. You will be so missed. We love you forever and always.

  18. Heartfelt sorrow to the Caputo family.

I remember Mike’s laughter that reached his eyes, the grafting of our apple trees, the respect and love for my parents and family, keeping me to my heritage, sausage making, and the love for family and friends. Most of all, his pride for being a father and grandfather. Mike welcomed me and my family into his life.

Veronica, my dear friend, you showed Mike care, respect and the dignity he deserved.

May you all find peace in his passing. Love to you all.

  19. Our deepest sympathies for the family.
Michael you have been called home with the Angel’s, your suffering is now over.
    R.I.P

  20. Mike was such a great person and I am so sad to hear of his passing. As a young girl, going to visit Fran, I remember how welcoming Veronica and Mike were. There was always a spot for me at the dinner table and if I was lucky Mike would let me have a little bit of wine. I learned many things at the Caputo dinner table. I learned that I had eaten rabbit for the first time, that Fran and Peter were not so innocent, my first Italian words, and of course that Italian food was amazing. Mikes stories brought joy and laughter to anyone who knew him. His love for his family, children, and grandchildren was beautiful. Mr. Caputo thank you for being so kind to me. You will be greatly missed. You always called me a 10 and I will never ever forget how kind you were to me!

  22. My sincerest condolences to the Caputo Family and to all who knew him.

  23. My cousin Mike’s passing leaves a void in my heart that can never be filled. Mike was a courageous man who left Italy to make a better life in Edmonton. In those early years Mike lived with us (his aunt Ida and late Uncle Paolino). Growing up I always considered Veronica, Peter, and Francesca part of my extended family. When I married, Mike would tease my husband calling him cousin Larry. We all know what a great sense of humor Mike had. These memories are precious and now I hold on to them with a stronger grip. I am sure heaven is a different place now that Mike is there. Certainly that heavenly garden needs a few touch ups. My heart is full of gratitude for the love and devotion Veronica demonstrated throughout Mike’s illness.
I pray that the joy of paradise is yours, Mike. I will keep you close in my heart until we meet again. Love Eugenia.

  24. Sending our sincere condolences to Peter, Judy & girls. We had know Mike for many years. My fondest memory is his rabbits & ice fishing & his famous words “It’s all in the presentation”.
Words I will always remember. Rest well Mike & keep on fishing.

    Jim & pat
