It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Pius Augustus Jesseau (Grandpi) at seventy years of age.

He left behind an abundance of wonderful memories for his daughter Kimberly, Fort McMurray, Alberta as well as her spouse Chad Runcer; his common law spouse of 35 years Ida Stroud, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL; his sister Berta (Richard) Foley, Ellerhouse, NS; his brothers Paul (Ruth) Jesseau, CBS, NL; Melvin (Sandi) Jesseau, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL, including his grandchildren Samantha and James; great granddaughter Violet, and a long list of nephews nieces and extended family.

Predeceased by his parents Pius Jesseau Sr, (1994) and Bride (O’Dea) Jesseau, Halifax, (2009); daughter Bonnie Lynn, Grand Falls-Windsor, (1994) and brother Ronald, Halifax, (2019).

Pius was a very dedicated single parent with a strong love for life, mixed with an intense free spirit and tempered with his undying love for his girls. As an instructor at the College of the North Atlantic, he was an extremely talented machinist/millwright and as a mentor for young tradespeople, was gifted with a multitude of talents that he used in very unique and inventive ways.

He was blessed with an amazing circle of dear friends from his musical entertainment ventures to his Harley Davidson family, as well as his coworkers at the College of the North Atlantic and many more that loved him and were fortunate to call him “Friend”. His strength, courage and friendly personality defined him and his mere presence and infectious smile will be dearly missed.

He will be cremated in Alberta immediately and will be carried back home where a private celebration of Pius’s life and his burial next to Bonnie will be held when circumstances permit.

  1. Kim,

Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your father. It is so hard to lose the person who you know loved you the most without conditions and would always be your biggest cheerleader. I remember way back to Polygon Road and how your Dad always made us kids feel welcome and I don’t think I ever saw him without a smile. You were so lucky to have a Dad who took on the task of single parenting, not a common thing “back in the day”. Clearly he was a gem.
