Dennis Roy Hendricks
On December 16, 2025, Dennis Roy Hendricks, lovingly known as Den, Denny, Pops, Daddio and Papa - passed away peacefully into eternity, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on June 13, 1951, in Oakland, California, Dennis’s early childhood life was by no means a reflection of the devotion and love he had - to family, to hard work, and to the relationships he nurtured throughout his life. Dennis married the love of his life, Joan, in Nelson, BC, a love story that spanned 55 years. Their relationship built on deep affection, sharing laughter, resilience, and unwavering support. Together, Dennis and Joan created a home rooted in warmth and stability wherever life took them. Dennis was a proud and devoted father to 2, a proud and joyful papa to 4 grandchildren and was also a deeply devoted uncle, nephew and loyal friend.
Dennis is survived by his beloved wife Joan; his son Jason (Jennifer); his daughter Angie (Joel); and his cherished grandchildren Jakob, Jackson, Rayah, and Hannah. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched - in the values he instilled, the stories he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In liu of flowers, our family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society - designating lung cancer research - which is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers, the least funded and the leading cause of death from cancer across the world.

I am so sorry for your loss Joan and family.
Deepest sympathy to the family. Dennis or “Denno” as I called him, was a friend for nearly 50 years. Many laughs on the golf course, lots of great conversation about the media business and life in general. Also a great listener and source of support through tough times. I will miss his smile and the laughter. Rest easy my friend.
Our friendship spans many decades with you and a few years with Dennis but countless hours of conversations and laughter ! We are so sad to

Joan and Family:
We were so sorry to hear of Dennis’ passing. Please accept our sincere condolences. We hope you find comfort and solace in the memories you have of Dennis.
We are so sorry for your loss of Dennis. No words can make it better. Dennis, “Uncle” Dennis to me growing up, had an infectious sense of humour and a sparkling personality I looked up to. As a young child, our families went skiing together, and his suggestion to race me down the mountain led to humorous memories my family still reminisces about today. Dennis’ gregarious nature seems only to have been matched by his kind heart. His loss creates waves of grief rippling from his direct family out to so, so many people whose lives he touched.
Take care in this time of deep sadness.
Love,
Blake, Sherri, Gideon and Finnegan

Thinking of you Joan during this very sad time.
Dear Joan. Saddened by the news of Dennis’s passing. Sending our love and condolences to you and your family. Dennis was a dear friend from my past, when the boys arrived in Canada. Our 🐎 days. Then came high school – Joanie arrived. You & Dennis the most beautiful couple. True ❤️ . 55 Years, a beautiful family & many friends.
Rest in Peace. 🙏 Lynne & David
Joan and family. We are so sorry for your loss. Dennis had a rich and full life with you by his side and he will be missed by all. 😔
To Joan, Jason, Angie and Family,
With our deepest sympathies on the passing of Dennis, I had the privilege of Dennis’ friendship starting back in 1972 at NAIT, we shared classes and projects together! He provided me with my career opportunity at Molson which lead to other unique careers. Nancy and I shared many special times with Dennis and Joan in the Molson family! (think he also took lots money from me on the Highlands golf course) Dennis had a truly accomplished business career that many of us would be envious of. He will be truly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you at this most difficult time.
Sincerely,
Rick & Nancy Skaggs
Joan, Jason, Angie and family, we are so sad for your loss of Dennis, he was a true patriarch, loving and supporting you all. We pray for God’s presence and peace to be with you today and through the coming weeks, months and years, and that you will be comforted in your knowledge that he is at rest and with Jesus.
Love to you all
Chris and Julie
