Riana Joy Greve Obituary
November 5, 1966 - July 26, 2026
It is with deep sorrow and much love that the family of Riana Joy Greve of Edmonton, Alberta announces her passing on July 26, 2026 at the age of 59 years.
She was born in The Pas, Manitoba on November 5, 1966 and raised in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Saskatchewan and obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1989. While helping her father at the local golf course, she met the love of her life, Mark Greve, who was on a camping trip to Madge Lake near Yorkton. Before you knew it, their relationship blossomed and deepened. They were married in Saskatoon on August 13, 1988. They moved to New Orleans, Louisiana to complete Mark’s medical Fellowship in Retinal Surgery (Ophthalmology), before returning to Canada with their newborn daughter. They made their home in Edmonton, where two sons joined the family. They filled busy lives with work, building a lovely new home on the ravine, and raising their three children. Riana took on a significant role in organizing and managing their home and various business enterprises. She had a chef’s talent for food presentation and hosting. Life took them to many interesting places, sharing experiences around the world together. Riana had a passion for gardening, interior decorating, and was an avid book club reader, welcoming friends and family into her home. Her skills for organization were legendary. Riana was thoughtful and compassionate, with a wonderful sense of style. She was loving and generous with her time and talents, and cherished visits with family—especially her grandchildren. Her quiet spirituality was an influence to her family and many others.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 37 years, Mark; her children: Lauren Harder (Drew), Matthew Greve, and Ty Greve; her grandchildren: Henry Harder and Sadie Harder; her parents: Violet Arnott (Lorne); her sibling: Phillane Jackle (Ken) and numerous other family members and friends from both sides of her family.
Riana was pre-deceased by her father, John Paluck.
