Blair Gnida
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Blair Gnida on January 12, 2026, at the age of 60 years.
Blair was born to Esther (Matiko) and Walter Gnida on August 16, 1965, in Edmonton.
Blair will be lovingly remembered by his brother Kevin and sister-in-law Sara, their children (Elana, Spencer, and Joshua) and grandchildren (Elspeth, Lydia and Lucy), and his many circles of friends. Blair was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Esther, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Blair was a very caring and giving person, going far beyond what most of us would do to help and support his friends and those he encountered who needed his assistance, through his tax business, his church, and the Refuge Mission.
His life was marked by generosity and compassion, and he will be greatly missed by so very many people.

Condolences to Kevin, Sara and family…Blair was a Godly special man…and will be dearly missed.
Blair was my favorite colleague over the many years we taught at U of A. Great laugh. Constantly on the edge of cracking a joke. He just had a way of making the people around him feel seen and more energized after every interaction. Blair cared deeply about his colleagues and was an excellent teacher to thousands of students from across the globe. I know they would be deeply saddened by his sudden passing.
Whenever I met Blair he was rushing off to help someone but never in too much of a hurry to stop and chat with me. I will always remember the joy on his face when he was serving another person.
Congratulation Blair, on your new and everlasting housing.
Blair was truly a very remarkable man. Always going above and beyond for those around him. He cared and gave so much. He will be truly missed. Sincere condolences to his family.
I am so very shocked, saddened and sorry, Kevin and Sara and families, for the death of kind and gentle Blair. He was a beautiful friend and I respected him so very much. May you feel and know Father God’s arms around you all now and as you go forward remembering Blair.
We will miss you my dear friend…gone far too early. Our times volunteering for Missions Fest for all those years will remain dear to my heart with the time spent together. Rest in peace and know you will be missed.
I am very sorry and shocked to hear of the passing of Blair. My little brother Kenny had known Blair for over 40 years and considered him a good friend and a “stand up guy”.
Sincere condolences to the family.

Heartfelt condolences to Blair’s family, friends and clients.
Blair’s passing was a great shock to us as he had been at our place early afternoon of the day before.
Heather and I first met Blair almost twenty years ago at Beulah Alliance Church where he was a faithful supporter and volunteer. His faith in Jesus was evident by how he gave so much of himself, his time and talents to serving others in the name of the Lord. He did so with humility, selflessness, dedication and generosity. Over three years ago his encouragement led us to begin volunteering at The Refuge Mission Hall where he was a faithful supporter and a team leader. Upon hearing of Blair’s passing the verse that came to mind that summarizes his life is Matthew 25:21
Well done, good and faithful servant.
Blair will be deeply missed by many.

What a shock. Blair, thank you and your parents for all the tax services over the years. You and your parents served our family well over such a long time. Blair, you were always kind to our family and we will surely miss you as a business person and a just a great person in general. Keats family.
My condolences & sympathy to family members of Blair Gnida. I will miss him very much. I’ve called lBlair almost like an older brother to me in Edmonton. Sometimes I would call him up for advice and encouragement of things in my life. Attending the singles connect studies @ Beulah Alliance he was leading. I would often talk to Blair at a table he would lead. Sometimes he had humour to make me laugh a little. Once awhile I volunteered to help Blair with cleaning up and take downs. Was after a singles connect study. I was able to get to know Blair more also. Had a lot of memories of Blair since the 2000’s. I am looking forward to seeing him in Heaven for eternity some day soon. All the best to all of Blair’s family members at this time. May God’s comfort be with you all.
My deepest sympathy to all the Gnida family on the passing of Blair. Thankful for his tax service for over 40 years.
May his memories bring you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
Blair was a man I was very priviledged to call friend. He set the example for service and giving. His friendship, his help, his example and his humour are very sorely missed. Yet we celebrate his home going and the mercy and goodness of the Lord who called him home surrounded by brothers and sisters who love him.
I pray comfort and peace for those of us who remain behind and look forward to fellowshiping with Blair again. To Kevin, Sara and family God grant you peace in knowing that Blair is home, and he is very much loved by many.
Blair was my friend, and I am deeply saddened by his passing. I knew him as the leader of Sunday Connect, where his generosity, humility, and servant heart were so evident. Blair was a true servant—extremely giving, faithful, and bold in his belief and witness of Jesus. He offered a unique and meaningful contribution to this world and to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that contribution will be deeply missed.
My deepest condolences to his brother Kevin, and to all of Blair’s family and friends. I am better for having known you, Blair. You were an example to me of what it means to be a servant to all—living out Jesus’ words: “The greatest among you will be your servant.” You will not be forgotten.
My heart is heavy on the sudden passing of Blair, a dear friend and brother in Christ. He was a beautiful witness and servant of God. I’ve seen how he had walked intentionally with people- including me – on our spiritual journeys. Oh, will miss you Blair, your quirky jokes, genuine concern, and prayerful heart. I praise God for your life!
To Kevin, Sara and the whole family, praying that God will soften your grief with the wonderful peace of Jesus.
I am profoundly and truly saddened to hear of Blairs passing. Blair was a true Christian spirit. He personified the legacy of his parents (they too were also truly Christian). Reading all the words from others who have written, Blair indeed was humble, helpful and hopeful. Blair extended that quality to others who have been lucky to know him. He is and will be truly missed
My sincerest condolences to Blair’s family. He was a kind man and a dedicated teacher. We hope Blair’s family finds peace and joy in their memories and in his legacy of generosity.
My condolences to family Sorry to hear about Blair his passing know him from beulah and know his parents to with far east broadcasting for a few years with my parents too.
Our condolences, Blair was such a great and honest, knowledgeable person. He’s with Walter and Esther as we read this… God bless them all.
