Bryan Roland Liden, 86, of Edmonton, Alberta, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, surrounded by love.

Born on January 1, 1939, in Meeting Creek, Alberta, Bryan was the son of Thyra and Roland Liden. From an early age, he embraced life with enthusiasm, developing a lifelong love for sport through hockey and curling—interests that reflected his competitive spirit and joy for camaraderie.

In 1959, Bryan met Jeanette Robin, a moment he often said marked the true beginning of his life. Their love and partnership became the foundation of a life filled with devotion, laughter, and shared memories.

Bryan articled with Winspear and went on to become a Chartered Accountant in 1964. Known for his integrity, work ethic, and leadership, he built a distinguished career and was proud to become a partner in the firm. He approached his profession with the same dedication and care that defined every part of his life.

An avid golfer, Bryan found great happiness on the course, especially during cherished winter months spent in Maui and Phoenix. These seasons were filled with sunshine, friendship, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jeanette; their children Craig (Garth), Tracy (Neil), and Colin (Andrew); grandchildren Sara (Fallon), Amy (David), Mackenzie (Maddie), Paige (Sebastian), Bryan, Robyn (Jake), and Layna (Greg); great-grandchildren Sigrid, Sybil, Evelyn, Kinsley, and Lucas.

Papa, you will be remembered for your kindness, generosity, good humour, and wicked golf swing. We are very proud to have you as a father and thankful for all that you have provided. Rest in peace. We will cherish you and hold your hand forever. Love, Colin & Andrew

Dad, losing you has left an emptiness nothing can ever fill. Your kindness, your strength, and your steady love live on in all of us. We carry you with us—in our hearts, in our memories, and in the way we try to live each day with the same warmth you gave so freely. Love, Craig & Garth and Tracy & Neil

Special thanks to the compassionate medical team at the Misericordia Hospital for the exceptional care and kindness they provided through Bryan’s final days.

Donations may be made to the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute or the Alberta SPCA.
