Following a courageous five-year journey with dementia, Carell Byers passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, at the Grey Nun's Palliative Care Unit.

Carell was born on October 17, 1941, in Edmonton, Alberta, to James and Lorell Andrews. In her younger years, she was a champion 10-pin bowler and an avid golfer. She cherished her time at Seba Beach, a place that always held a special place in her heart. Later in life, she found joy in travelling to Maui and took pleasure in entertaining and hosting friends and family. Carell had a true love for a good joke and enjoyed laughing with those around her. Her warmth, genuine hospitality, and the tradition of "pouring at four" became hallmarks of her vibrant soul.

She is lovingly remembered by her son Todd (Lois), her daughter Tracie (Bo), and her granddaughters Shauna and Sarah (Drew). She is also survived by her brother Denny. Carell was predeceased by her parents, James and Lorell.

To honor our mother's wishes, there will be no funeral service. We invite you to celebrate Carell's memory in your own way or by making a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta or to a charity of your choice. She will be with us all in spirit
