Carol Lavoie of Edmonton AB passed away peacefully in hospital on October 4, 2026, with her loving husband Bob and family by her side.

Carol will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 52 years Bob; sisters Rita, Karen (Del), brothers John (Karen), Paul (Corrine); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as other family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Donna and Willy Lamothe and siblings Diane and Peter.

Carol had a love for music, with Rock music being her favorite genre. Starting in her teenage years she went to many concerts and enjoyed rocking to the music of her favorite bands. Carol also loved the mountains and enjoyed spending numerous May long weekends camping, often with her younger brothers in tow. She always said her favorite place on earth was Mount Edith Cavell in Jasper National Park. Carol enjoyed sports and was an ardent fan of the Montreal Canadians and NY Yankees. Carol also loved cheering on adults and children alike in their various sporting events. She was the designated babysitter for the kids left on the sidelines when their parents were playing. Carol loved to eat out often and she enjoyed having a glass of wine with her meals. She also loved her television, especially Reality TV, Game shows, and the cooking channels.

Carol had a lengthy career with Alberta Justice, starting off as a file clerk and working her way up to a Judicial Clerk and Team Leader. Carol enjoyed the challenging environment and variety of her work. She was fortunate to have made lasting relationships throughout her work years.

Carol loved her family and she was often referred to as the favorite aunt by some of her older nieces and nephews. She lived a full, fun filled life until her health deteriorated and she will be sadly missed.

As per Carol’s wishes there will not be a funeral or service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a memorial donation be made to the Canadian Lung Association.
