Doreen Cheryl Myrfield
March 18, 1951 - December 7, 2023
Doreen Cheryl Myrfield (Novakshonoff) passed away December 7, 2023 at the age of 72 while in care at the University of Alberta hospital after a short battle with cancer. Even while in the hospital she was able to bring a smile to others and to herself.
She was predeceased by her parents Mary and Mack, her brother Billy/Varlaam, and her husband Brock. She is survived by her sister Anita, children Jeff (Andraes), Nicole (Leo), Blair (Amanda) and six grandkids: Evan, Kingston, Abel, Lenni, Ashten and Mackayla.
Doreen always loved to be able to tell a witty story or remark and make people laugh. She had a side dream of being a stand up comedian. She loved to travel even if it was to stay at a hotel a half hour from home. You could always count on Doreen to knit up a pair of slippers or some dishcloths or pull some from her inventory. Her eyes would light up anytime she was given some yarn or even better when she was able to go buy some from a store. She was always excited to go to garage sales or thrift stores and find a good deal.
A celebration of life will take place in the spring of 2024, as Doreen's wishes were for no formal funeral to take place.

We were so sad to have just recently heard about your Mom’s passing. I have so many wonderful memories of her over the years I knew her. It is unfortunate that in moving away from Alberta, we also lost touch with each other. She will always be remembered as a dear and kind friend. Violet and Rob Taylor
