Douglas Slade

Doug Slade, age 61, passed away in his home on May 24, 2026. He spent 11 months giving cancer the middle finger. Through it all, Doug stayed optimistic about the future. He spent his final days surrounded by the people he loved most.

Even at the very end, Doug’s mind was out in nature. He never stopped thinking about his deep love for the outdoors, camping, fishing, traveling and hunting. Doug’s quick wit, sharp humor, and strong opinions will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly: His loving spouse, Sara Kubik. His children, Haley Norman (Nick) and Jake Slade (Amanda). His favorite people, his grandchildren Addisyn and Weston Norman. His mother, Jenny Price. His aunt, Donna Slade. His sister-in-law, Mel Kubik. His mother-in-law, Joy Holmes. And many other family members and dear friends.

He is now reunited with his father, William Slade, and his loving uncle, Jim Slade, who passed away before him.

As per Doug’s explicit wishes, there will be no formal service.

He will be cremated, and his family will celebrate his life privately.
