We are sad to announce that our father Edward Demers passed away in his sleep on July 24, 2023.

Ed spent 60 years in the oilfield industry and started at age of 15. He decided he didn't want to be a farmer so he left the family farm to drill for oil instead. He loved every second of it and had zero regrets with that choice, he did one last job at age 75 where he was forced out due to forgetting to send in some tasks by the company.

Edward is predeceased by his father Esmond in 1968, his younger brother Harvey in 1974, his mother Andolina in 2005 and his sister Cora in 2020. He is predeceased by his wife Sandra in 2014 and his father in law Alex in 1992. He lost most of his wife's family over the years also and he cherished his time with his last living brother in law Dennis Snydmiller and the phone calls when he could still answer the phone where they would talk about the ladies who might be single looking for two swinging single bachelors.

Edward is survived by his children Randy Demers (Linda), Teira Jadeaux (Anil Boodhoo), Regan Demers ( Sarah), his grandchildren Anastasia Mueller ( Adam), Veronica Hance ( Alek), Austin Hance, Anjelika Boodhoo, Madison Demers, Lisa Cloutier (Mike), Corey Courier (Rayna) and David Cloutier. Great grand children Kathalina Faye Juarez, Kaydence Edira Howell, Clark Cloutier and Linkin Cloutier.

Ed suffered from Alzheimers for the last nine years of his life and he had ANCA Vascultis, a very rare disorder but he fought them both until the very end where the Akzheimers until the very end where it took over. Ed fought hard until the very end.

The family wants to thank the General Hospital continuing care for their care over the last year. The staff there was amazing, loving and kind towards him when he needed it most.

His daughter asks that all donations be made in his name to the Alberta Alzheimer Society and to The Alberta Foundation for Diabetes Research his wife started for their daughter.

  7. Sorry to hear about Eddy…condolences to the family.
We had fun social group when Ed lived in Camrose many years ago. We had lots of fun with our skidoos in the winter traveling the country side and at the lake.
Note: I’m still embarrassed about the dog hair in the back window of Ed’s vehicle after a day skidooing at the lake!😮

  8. Thankful for the time we had with Ed at our family reunion a few years ago. My father James Demers spoke highly of him and loved his visits with Ed. Sorry to hear of his passing. We will remember him fondly.
