Errol’s family is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at the age of 83 years.  He passed away peacefully in the presence of family after a brief battle with cancer.

There will be a private family gathering to celebrate his life.

Errol is survived by his loving wife Louise/Sandy Lamb, brother Dennis Lamb, daughter Jacqueline (Roy) Lamb, grandson Matthew Lamb, stepson Ben (Chrys) Olsen, step granddaughters Millie and Sarah Olsen, son-in-law Allen Shulak, nieces Terri Jansen Bergen, Lisa Smears, and Susan Lamb, and nephew Timothy Lamb.  He was predeceased by his parents Charles and Catherine Lamb, daughter Kristine Shulak, sister Valerie Jansen, and nephew Richard Lamb.

Errol was born in Beinfait, Saskatchewan, the oldest of three to Charlie and Catherine.  He was an honor student and visionary who studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta.  He ran his own engineering business called FYN Engineering.  Errol devoted his career to using his remarkable intelligence and understanding of physics and chemistry to design water treatment systems, bringing clean drinking water to numerous communities throughout the province of Alberta.

Throughout his life, Errol had a wonderful relationship with animals, caring for and training many dogs as cherished members of the family.  He was a talented gourmet chef who created four-course meals for family and friends.  Like his grandmother and mother, he was an excellent gardener.  Errol was also a talented sketch artist who loved to draw portraits and was also a skilled photographer and poet.  Errol was an amazing carpenter who built architecturally sound greenhouses, outdoor ponds, buildings, and complex two-story birdhouses.

Errol’s family and friends are grateful for his life as a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, friend, colleague, and engineer.  We are proud of the significant and important impact his life had on many people and communities.  Errol will be missed and remembered always.
