On September 2, 2026, Mr. Eugenio Romeo of Edmonton passed away at the age of 79 years.
He is survived by his three loving children: Francesco (Natalia) Romeo, Lisa (James) Filomeno and Sonia (Mario) Filice; seven grandchildren: Michele, Massimo, Giada, Bianca, Teresina, Simona and Carmine; his brother Angelo (Angelina) and his sister Maria (Carmine), as well as numerous other relatives and many dear friends.
He was predeceased by his wife Teresa in 2012 and his three brothers, Tomaso, Francesco and Peppino.
Eugenio was known for his strong personality, his incredible work ethic, and his passion for hunting. But beyond all of that, he was one of the most giving and kind-hearted people you could ever meet. He had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up any room. His generosity, warmth, and unforgettable smile will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Proud to have spent time getting to know Gino from a young age. I had the privilege of Working with Gino in my early 20’s it was a schooling in itself. He taught you how to put in a hard day of work. We stuccoed some very large homes together. He appreciated my effort and he always had a good sense of humour about watching me trying to keep up with him. Amazing worker and he did it for the Love of his family. Gino always Loved celebrating special occasions with Some Accordian playing and dancing. I enjoyed playing a few songs for him and I loved watching his children dance to our favourite Italian songs. Gino was always encouraging. He inspired you to live life to the fullest. Which he did, I will continue to play my music 🎶 for him.

My Zio Gino was a fierce protector for myself n my family. Although he had another family he treated my siblings as his own family. I felt safe in his presence and often ran to his home just to find peace when things got tough in our house. I’m deeply saddened by his loss and over the years life just moved on believing I would see him again to express my love for All the times he came to rescue and calm things down around our house. For me he was Angel in disguise saving lives in his spare time. For me he was the father figure that we all crave to have when things get bad! I’m not sure I ever had the words to express too him the love I felt for his presence in my life. I am not able to physical see him however he impressed upon me a Love that a man is there to protect n honor his friends and family as he would want to be honoured. I’m my eyes My Zio Gino was my hero who stood up for me in ways that words could never give you understanding, because this was an experience of Energy that had to be felt and I only wish that I could have spent more time telling him who he was to Me growing up! My protector here on earth ,he was an Earth Angel in disguise! ti Amo Zio Gino

Gino was a truly good man and one of those rare people you feel incredibly blessed to have met in your lifetime.
I met Gino years ago when I was just 18 years old, and I had the privilege of working for him for about 10 years. He taught me everything I know about the work we did, but over those years, he taught me so much more than that. He became a friend, a mentor, and someone I always looked up to.
He welcomed me into his home, where I had the privilege of meeting his wife and his children Franco, Lisa and Sonia. I have so many wonderful memories from those years…so many laughs, so many good times, and plenty of moments where I’m sure I frustrated him. Somehow, he never got angry with me. That was just Gino. He was kind, patient, and always wore his heart on his sleeve.
He used to call me “rimbambito,” and we would laugh about it. Those little memories are the ones I know I’ll carry with me forever.
His kids were so lucky to have a dad like him. The kind of person who leaves an impression on everyone lucky enough to know him. You only meet a couple of truly good friends in a lifetime, and Gino was one of mine. I’m so grateful I had the privilege of knowing him, working alongside him, learning from him, and eventually calling him my friend.
My last visit with Gino was just last month. We had such a great little visit, and I told him how much I loved him. I’m so thankful I got that chance to say it.
Gino, I will always remember you, always look up to you, and always be grateful for the years, the lessons, and the laughs we shared.
You were a good man, a good friend, and you will be deeply missed.
