It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our Dad, Fred Berrigan on April 2, 2024 at the age of 80. His strength, courage, determination and love for life were evident to all who knew him.

Fred was born in Glacé Bay, Nova Scotia on November 24 1943. Fred lived a full life, starting his career in the Canadian armed forces then becoming a correctional officer where he retired after 35 years of loyal service.
Our Dad, Fred is predeceased by his mom and dad along with his 7 siblings, his daughter Tracy and his second wife Betty. He leaves behind his son Todd (Sylvie), daughter Shannon, granddaughters, Kisha and Emma; great granddaughters, Jaelyn and Jaymie; two brothers-in-law who have always been like brothers, Jim (Lise) and Terry (Roz) and our mom Patricia, who always remained friends till the end. He leaves behind so many that love and cherish him and will always remember him for the man that he was.

Our Dad was the strongest man we knew and to many people he was a loyal friend and a mentor throughout his career. Our Dad faced many challenges in life which he overcame and defeated, nothing stopped him from being happy with life. He saw the good in people and always wanted to help others if he could.

He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

The family asks those who attended, to please bring one red rose that you can leave with our Dad.

  1. Rest in peace Fred. You were like a big brother to me for many years. You will be missed.

  2. Fred never stopped saying ‘I love you’ and he loved to hold hands. I miss walking the halls of Schonsee with you Berrigan. Your laugh and jokes. He would always say ‘You are a good girl but you don’t listen’ and I’ll say same to him ‘You are a good man but you don’t listen’ 😊. I love you back Frederick Marsh Berrigan ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Condolences to Todd and the entire family.

  3. My husband Bill & Fred were in the Black Watch to-gather in Gagetown, NB in the early 1960’s … in 1969 they were posted to Germany – where we spent 4 years and did a lot traveling to-gather. Pat and I have kept in contact over the years. Sincere Condolences to The Berrigan Family
