Gerard (Gerry) Bruce Favel

Gerard (Gerry) Bruce Favel age 82 passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Jubilee Lodge Nursing Home in Edmonton, Alberta. He was born January 19, 1944, in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba to Jean Anne (nee: Aymont) and Fred Favel.  Gerry was a survivor of juvenile arthritis and lived with physical disabilities. Despite these challenges he always maintained a remarkably resilient attitude. As a young man he headed west for adventure and work, first settling in Calgary and then Edmonton. He proudly worked as a bookkeeper for most of his career.  In the mid-80s Gerry met Lois Danelesko with whom he developed a loving partnership. For 37 years they enjoyed companionship, travel and their fur babies. As a team they opened their hearts and home to many.

Gerry was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Alfred, Dale, Albert, George; and brother-in-law, Syd; partner, Lois and her son, Dwight.

Gerry is survived by his siblings, Simone; Richard (Lesley), Maurice (Ann Marie), Desire (Giselle) and sister-in-law and Diane, nephews, nieces, cousins; and his blended family, Elaine, Tessa (Andrew), Sunday, Rooney, Drew, Justin (Susan), Scott (Melody), Todd (Stephanie), Abigail, Joseph, Anna (Bjorn), Elizabeth, and Charlie.

Gerry’s family expresses heartfelt gratitude to all staff at Jubilee Lodge for the care and support provided during his residence.  A special thank you is extended to Pat Mei, Don McHauglin and Perry Behling for their enduring friendship and kindness to Gerry especially over the past four years.
