After being diagnosed with dementia, Hugh James Plunkett passed away from kidney failure at the University Hospital on November 25, 2025.

His memory lives on in the hearts of his loving companion of 20 years, Wilma Botha and so many close and caring friends.

Hugh is predeceased by his parents Mary and Bernard Plunkett. He was released from the church in order to marry Hugh's mother Mary.

After Hugh graduated university, he taught high school for a short while before he left Montreal and went to Germany where he taught English. While in Europe, Hugh took up martial arts and was instructed by Steven Seagal. Hugh also travelled to Japan where he had all 26 of his tattoos done. He was very proud of each one of them.

Hugh loved his motorcycles, dancing and camping with Wilma and Monika and their friends. Hugh had a heart of gold and was always there for his friends.
