John Halasz

John was born on September 07, 1934 to John and Julia Halasz in MacKay, Alberta and passed away on March 15, 2026 at the age of 91.

John was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Barb, infant son, Curtis Joseph, and sisters Julie Lyttle, Grace Halasz, and Anne Macpherson.

John and Barb raised their family in Edmonton and created a home that was inviting and welcoming to all.

In their retirement years, they enjoyed travelling to some of their favourite Hawaiian Islands or anywhere with the sun and a beautiful beach.

Grandpa (Great Grandpa) absolutely adored and treasured his 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. His happiest moments centred around all his little ones. His warmth and kind spirit will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by children, Cal (Cindy), Darren (Tracy), Michele (Darcy), Marvet (Nick), Shane (Marjorie), 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A private family service will be held in John’s honour.
