Kenneth Albert L’Hirondelle
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Albert L'Hirondelle, who passed away peacefully with his son Curtis by his side.
Ken grew up in St. Albert, and moved to Edmonton at age 19, where he spent much of his life building connections and memories with family, friends, and his community. He worked as an electrician with Edmonton Public Schools for many years before retiring, taking pride in his work and the contributions he made throughout his career.
Ken shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Flora. Together, they built a family and a lifetime of memories. His family was at the heart of his life, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Ken was a dedicated member of Champion City Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. He also had a special place in his heart for hockey and was a devoted Edmonton Oilers fan, always enjoying the excitement of the game and cheering on his favourite team.
Ken is lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Flora; his sons, Trevor, Curtis (Uyen) and Joel; and his grandchildren, Noah, Curtis-John, Alexis, Zachary and Neve Marie, and his great-grandchildren, Mason, Adrianna, and Beaux.
He will also be lovingly remembered by his brother, Richard Garfield (Sandra); his sisters, Karen Jandrey, Gloria Boulier, and Joan Roeder; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his many spiritual children and grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart.
Ken was predeceased by his son, Sean; his grandson, Max ; four of his siblings, his parents, John Norbert and Nancy ; and his grandparents.
Ken leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and cherished memories. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
He will be forever loved, remembered, and missed.
A celebration of Ken's life will take place; details will be announced at a later time.
